Political football

Modern Healthcare - - OPINIONS COMMENTARY -

It is unfortunate that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was made into a political football. For millions of needy people, this is a life and death issue. Our social structure exists because we want to take care of all Americans. During the past 80 years, unfortunately, we have reached a situation where government (at all levels) has become more an instrument to protect the interests of those who “have” and ignore the interests of those who are needy. It is the purpose of the government to pool the resources and establish an environment that helps the needy.
