Modern Healthcare salutes Healthcare’s Hottest
Forty healthcare companies and organizations have made Modern Healthcare’s inaugural list of Healthcare’s Hottest, a new recognition program honoring the fastest growing companies and organizations in the $2.7 trillion healthcare industry.
An alphabetical list of the fastest 40, as measured by revenue growth during the past six years, appears on Modern Healthcare’s website at modernhealthcare.com/healthcares hottest.
To participate in the program, nominees must have generated a minimum of $20 million in annual revenue in their most recent fiscal year and operated in one of four industry sectors: hospitals/hospital systems; physician group practices; payers/insurers; and vendors/suppliers. They must have been headquartered in the U.S. and been in business for at least six years. And they must have either been a privately held for-profit, publicly traded for-profit or private not-for-profit corporation or organization.
A total of 86 companies and organizations participated in this year’s program, which required them to submit financial documentation demonstrating their revenue growth.
All submitted financial documentation was tabulated and analyzed by Modern Healthcare. A sample of Modern Healthcare’s tabulations was independently assessed by the accounting and management consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche, a subsidiary of Deloitte LLP, which provides audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services to companies of all sizes including a practice dedicated to middle-market firms. Modern Healthcare chose 40 companies and organizations as Healthcare’s Hottest and is solely responsible for the final determination of the recipients.
On Sept. 24, Modern Healthcare will announce the ranked order of the 40 and crown the industry’s fastest-growing company or organization for 2012. The ranked order and profiles of the companies will appear in a special print supplement and on Modern Healthcare’s website, Modernhealthcare.com.
