Dr. Leslie Hall
has been named interim dean of the medical school at the University of Missouri, Columbia, as Dr. Robert Churchill prepares to retire from the post Oct. 31. Hall, 56, has worked as chief medical officer of University of Missouri Health Care and as senior associate director for clinical affairs at the school since 2008. Since 1999, he has been on the medical staff with the health system. He has clinical experience as a generalmedicine hospitalist. He will remain as CMO at the health system until Nov. 1. Meanwhile, the system will continue a national search for a permanent replacement for Churchill, 66, whose departure was announced in June when the medical school revealed a federal inquiry into potential Medicare billing fraud. Two radiologists left the organization, and federal prosecutors were continuing an investigation into whether the radiologists falsely claimed that they had personally reviewed X-rays that had been reviewed by medical residents.

Integrated Solutions Health Network, Johnson City, Tenn., has hired
Dr. Tom Lundquist
as president, CEO and chief clinical integration officer of A new Care Collaborative, its accountable care organization. Integrated Solutions formed A new Care and the Crest Point Health insurance company this year and describes the effort as the region’s first community-based ACO. Lundquist was previously VP of performance measurement and improvement at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
Dr. Elaine Batchlor
will serve as CEO of Los Angeles’ Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital, set to open in 2014. Batchlor, whose age wasn’t provided, is chief medical officer for L.A. Care, a Los Angeles-based public health plan, and has more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare. “Dr. Batchlor is a compelling leader with a proven track record of dedication to this community and successful implementation of innovative healthcare solutions,” Manny Abascal,
the hospital’s board chairman, said in a news release. Batchlor is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. Not-forprofit MLK Community Hospital, which officials estimate will have about 130 beds, will serve South Los Angeles. … St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, N.H., announced that President and CEO
David Ross has left his post and that the hospital has named as interim
James Hamill CEO, according to a news release. Ross, 53, is returning to Missouri because of family matters, according to the release.
