Allscripts’ ap­proach, “One net­work. One plat­form. One pa­tient,” speaks to the com­pany’s ef­forts to de­liver the largest net­work of clients in health­care us­ing a sin­gle plat­form, re­sult­ing in one record for each pa­tient. Thanks to that mis­sion, Allscripts has seen rev­enue growth of more than 500% since 2006.

Most of Allscripts’ rev­enue comes from sales of pro­pri­etary soft­ware and re­lated hard­ware, pro­fes­sional ser­vices and IT out­sourc­ing ser­vices. To continue grow­ing, Allscripts must con­stantly come out with new prod­ucts and new so­lu­tions to prob­lems. Ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease an­nounc­ing sec­ond-quar­ter 2012 re­sults, the com­pany is plan­ning to re­lease new prod­uct en­hance­ments this year.

“Allscripts re­mains well-po­si­tioned in a ro­bust mar­ket with a com­pre­hen­sive port­fo­lio span­ning the am­bu­la­tory, acute- and post-acute care de­liv­ery en­vi­ron­ments,” CEO Glen Tull­man said in the re­lease.
