DR. ARDIS HOVEN
Dr. Ardis Hoven, an internal medicine and infectious disease specialist, is president of the American Medical Association. Hoven began her term in June, becoming the third woman to hold that position. Hoven previously served as president of the Kentucky Medical Association, where she first got involved in the 1980s to advocate on behalf of patients with HIV/ AIDS. She has been on the AMA board of trustees since 2005, serving as chair from 2010 to 2011.
