Price con­trols usu­ally hurt those they in­tend to help

Re­gard­ing the ar­ti­cle “Ex­ces­sive drug costs could in­vite price caps: AHIP’s Ig­nagni” (Mod­ern­Health­care.com, May 21), price con­trols have failed in ev­ery case that they have been ap­plied.

Com­mand and con­trol and govern­ment in­ter­ven­tion, while of­ten wellintended, usu­ally hurt the people they are de­signed to help.
