Earl Barnes II has been named senior VP and general counsel for OhioHealth, a hospital system based in Columbus. Barnes, 50, previously served as VP and general counsel at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Before that, he was VP of legal affairs and general counsel at Rockford (Ill.) Health system. He succeeds Frank Pandora II, who retired after 34 years with OhioHealth.
David Veillette has been named president and CEO of Bakersfield (Calif.) Heart Hospital.
Veillette, 62, has led two other physician-owned specialty hospitals in his career, Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis from 2001 to 2005 and Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City from 1997 to 2001. Most recently, he has been a consultant. He replaces Randy Rolfe, who retired from his position at Bakersfield at the beginning of June.
Josh Urban has been named CEO of Memorial Hermann the Woodlands (Texas) Hospital.
Urban, 43, had been COO at the Woodlands since 2008. He first joined Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in 2000 as an administrative fellow, reporting to the CEO. He later served in administrative positions at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, Houston.
Ron Blaustein has been named CFO of Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Blaustein, 43, replaces Paula Noble, who retired after 18 years at the hospital. Blaustein has been with the hospital since 2006 and has served as associate CFO since 2010. Before that, he held various strategic financial planning roles at Pricewater house Coopers and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Lurie Children’s is the pediatric teaching arm for Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
