Earl Barnes II has been named se­nior VP and gen­eral coun­sel for OhioHealth, a hospi­tal sys­tem based in Columbus. Barnes, 50, pre­vi­ously served as VP and gen­eral coun­sel at North­west­ern Me­mo­rial Hospi­tal in Chicago. Be­fore that, he was VP of le­gal af­fairs and gen­eral coun­sel at Rock­ford (Ill.) Health sys­tem. He suc­ceeds Frank Pan­dora II, who re­tired af­ter 34 years with OhioHealth.

David Veil­lette has been named pres­i­dent and CEO of Bak­ers­field (Calif.) Heart Hospi­tal.

Veil­lette, 62, has led two other physi­cian-owned spe­cialty hos­pi­tals in his ca­reer, In­di­ana Heart Hospi­tal in In­di­anapo­lis from 2001 to 2005 and Ok­la­homa Heart Hospi­tal in Ok­la­homa City from 1997 to 2001. Most re­cently, he has been a con­sul­tant. He re­places Randy Rolfe, who re­tired from his po­si­tion at Bak­ers­field at the be­gin­ning of June.

Josh Ur­ban has been named CEO of Me­mo­rial Her­mann the Wood­lands (Texas) Hospi­tal.

Ur­ban, 43, had been COO at the Wood­lands since 2008. He first joined Me­mo­rial Her­mann Health­care Sys­tem in 2000 as an ad­min­is­tra­tive fel­low, reporting to the CEO. He later served in ad­min­is­tra­tive po­si­tions at Me­mo­rial Her­mann Texas Med­i­cal Cen­ter, Hous­ton.

Ron Blaustein has been named CFO of Lurie Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal of Chicago.

Blaustein, 43, re­places Paula No­ble, who re­tired af­ter 18 years at the hospi­tal. Blaustein has been with the hospi­tal since 2006 and has served as as­so­ciate CFO since 2010. Be­fore that, he held var­i­ous strate­gic fi­nan­cial plan­ning roles at Price­wa­ter house Coop­ers and North­west­ern Me­mo­rial Hospi­tal in Chicago. Lurie Chil­dren’s is the pe­di­atric teach­ing arm for North­west­ern Univer­sity’s Fein­berg School of Medicine.
