How to help
1. Ask vendors for help: Rush’s Jaime Parent approached IT vendors asking for complimentary access to online training.
2. Enlist search firms: Parent recommends reaching out to local technology placement firms to help veterans find jobs. “They’re happy to place them because they get the finder’s fee,” he said.
3. Be flexible: Make changes to training programs, including their length and size, based on what works and what doesn’t.
4. Get the word out: Tell local organizations that serve veterans about your program and ask for help with recruitment.
The second class of veterans in Rush’s EN-Abled Vet Program began in July.
