MGMA’s Turney to head Marshfield Clinic system

Starting Sept. 1, CEO of Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic Health System, where she previously worked as the medical director for patient financial services and practiced as an internist for 22 years.
Turney will be the first CEO of the new Marshfield system, which began to take shape in 2011 and was granted tax-exempt status in February. It includes the 700physician multispecialty clinic that was founded in 1916 and has more than 50 locations; the Security Health Plan; and two small hospitals. Turney was the first woman to lead the MGMA and the first woman and first physician to serve as executive VP and CEO of the Wisconsin Medical Society.
