Robert Probst has been named CFO at Ventas, a real estate investment trust working with healthcare organizations.
Probst, 46, will oversee the financial operations of Chicago-based Ventas starting in October. Ventas, one of the largest healthcare REITs, owns the properties of more than 1,500 senior-living facilities, skilled-nursing facilities, medical office buildings and hospitals, as of June 30. And it’s primed to be getting even larger. The REIT is waiting to finalize its $2.6 billion acquisition of American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust, expected to close by year’s end.
Probst previously served as CFO of Beam, parent company of several hard-liquor brands such as Jim Beam bourbon. He also worked in the healthcare industry as VP of Baxter International’s medication delivery business line.
