Joseph Fournier has been chosen as the University of Michigan Health System’s chief human resources officer.
Fournier, 38, replaces Deborah Childs, who retired this fall from the Ann Arborbased system. His appointment is effective in February.
Currently, Fournier is VP and chief human resources officer at UMass Memorial Medical Center and senior human resources officer for UMass Memorial Health Care, both in Worcester, Mass. He is responsible for all labor negotiations within the UMass Memorial system.
Fournier is also an adjunct professor of healthcare administration at Worcester State University, and a former major in the U.S. Air Force.
