Dr. Steven Strongwater has been named president and CEO of Atrius Health, a not-for-profit multispecialty medical group serving eastern Massachusetts and a Pioneer accountable care organization.
Strongwater, 60, is chief transformation officer and chief medical executive for acquisition integration at Geisinger Health System, based in Danville, Pa. He will start his new role in late July or early August. He is Dr. Dan replacing Burnes, who has served as interim Dr. Gene CEO after Lindsey retired in 2013.
Before joining Geisinger, Strongwater was associate dean for clinical affairs at the University of Connecticut Health Center and medical director and director of clinical resource management, case management and utilization management at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Leonard Castiglione has been named CEO of the Greenville, S.C.-based Ob Hospitalist Group, one of the nation’s largest hospitalist providers of OB-GYN services. He joins the medical group with 23 years of healthcare leadership experience.
Castiglione most recently served as CEO of Florida Gulf to Bay Anesthesia Holdings, Tampa, and held a number of senior executive positions with US Oncology for more than a decade.
