Cen­tura Health adds fourth Kansas af­fil­i­ate

Englewood, Colo.-based Cen­tura Health and Stan­ton County Hos­pi­tal, John­son City, Kan., have signed an af­fil­i­a­tion agree­ment ex­pected to al­low the hos­pi­tal to ex­pand clin­i­cal ser­vices.

Stan­ton County is Cen­tura’s fourth af­fil­i­ate in Kansas and the 11th in­de­pen­dent af­fil­i­ate to join its net­work. The hos­pi­tal is a pub­licly owned fa­cil­ity, while Cen­tura is a 15-hos­pi­tal sys­tem jointly spon­sored by En­gle­wood­based Catholic Health Ini­tia­tives and Ad­ven­tist Health Sys­tem in Al­ta­monte Springs, Fla.

Lead­er­ship from St. Catherine Hos­pi­tal, a Cen­tura fa­cil­ity in Gar­den City, Kan., will work with Stan­ton County on tam­ing costs re­lated to its cap­i­tal ex­pen­di­tures and sup­ply chain, among other ex­penses, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease. Physi­cians from both or­ga­ni­za­tions are ex­pected to share clin­i­cal best prac­tices. Stan­ton is li­censed for 18 acute-care beds and has 25 long-term-care beds, ac­cord­ing to its web­site.
