Patty May­sent has been named in­terim CEO of UC San Diego Health. She

Paul Vi­viano, re­places who led the sys­tem for the past three years and is now the new pres­i­dent and CEO of Chil­dren’s Hos­pi­tal Los An­ge­les.

May­sent, 54, joined UC San Diego Health in 2012 as Vi­viano’s chief of staff. In 2013, she be­came the sys­tem’s chief strat­egy of­fi­cer.

Be­fore com­ing to UC San Diego, May­sent served in sev­eral ex­ec­u­tive roles, in­clud­ing CEO of St. Jude Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Fuller­ton, Calif., where she built the St. Jude Her­itage Health Foun­da­tion, a physi­cian/hos­pi­tal in­te­grated de­liv­ery sys­tem.

John Fer­relli has been named pres­i­dent and CEO of two-cam­pus Se­ton Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Cal­i­for­nia, part of the Daugh­ters of Char­ity Health Sys­tem.

Fer­relli, 58, will over­see oper­a­tions of Se­ton Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Daly City and Se­ton Coast­side in Moss Beach. He Joanne Allen, re­places who is re­tir­ing af­ter a 19-year ca­reer with the Daugh­ters of Char­ity. Fer­relli has more than 25 years of ex­pe­ri­ence lead­ing health sys­tems, acute-care hos­pi­tals and am­bu­la­tory cen­ters, pri­mar­ily in Cal­i­for­nia. Most re­cently, he served as chief ad­min­is­tra­tive of­fi­cer at USC Nor­ris Can­cer Hos­pi­tal in Los An­ge­les.
