Terry Car­roll has left his po­si­tion as chief in­no­va­tion of­fi­cer at Dart­mouth-Hitch­cock in Le­banon, N.H., to “pur­sue other in­ter­ests,” a spokesman said. Car­roll’s re­spon­si­bil­i­ties in­cluded in­for­ma­tion se­cu­rity, new busi­ness de­vel­op­ment, med­i­cal in­for­mat­ics and clin­i­cal use of data. His de­par­ture comes as Dart­mouth-Hitch­cock pre­pares to im­ple­ment Epic Sys­tems Corp.’s billing and sched­ul­ing soft­ware. Dr. Peter Sol­berg

has been named the sys­tem’s chief med­i­cal in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer, tak­ing Car­roll’s place, and has been work­ing on the Epic im­ple­men­ta­tion.

Car­roll came to Dart­mouth in Septem­ber 2013 af­ter serv­ing as VP of trans­for­ma­tion and CIO at Fairview Health Ser­vices in Min­neapo­lis.

Kristin Jones

has been named VP of ex­ter­nal af­fairs at the Univer­sity of Mary­land Med­i­cal Sys­tem.

Jones, 47, joins the Bal­ti­more-based sys­tem af­ter serv­ing as chief of staff to speaker Michael Busch of the Mary­land House of Del­e­gates. She will be­gin in the newly cre­ated po­si­tion Oct. 19 and will be re­spon­si­ble for pro­ject man­age­ment, net­work de­vel­op­ment and co­or­di­na­tion and gov­ern­ment re­la­tions.

Be­fore be­ing named chief of staff in 2005, Jones was coun­sel to the state’s House Eco­nomic Mat­ters Com­mit­tee, fo­cus­ing on healthcare and in­sur­ance is­sues. Her other leg­isla­tive work in­cludes ex­pe­ri­ence in healthcare, bud­get, ed­u­ca­tion and trans­porta­tion.
