Jim Roo­sevelt will re­tire as CEO of Tufts Health Plan at the end of the year af­ter lead­ing the Watertown, Mass.-based or­ga­ni­za­tion for 10 years.

Roo­sevelt will step down Jan. 1 and be Tom Croswell, suc­ceeded by the health plan’s pres­i­dent and COO. Roo­sevelt joined Tufts in 1999 as se­nior VP and gen­eral coun­sel.

Croswell joined Tufts in 2007 as COO and was given the ad­di­tional ti­tle of pres­i­dent in 2013. He pre­vi­ously was se­nior VP of med­i­cal man­age­ment and spe­cialty busi­nesses at Cigna, where he also served as pres­i­dent of the in­surer’s den­tal, phar­macy and worker’s com­pen­sa­tion busi­nesses.

Roo­sevelt will re­main an ad­viser to the com­pany af­ter his retirement.
