Dead­line ex­tended for Best Places to Work in Health­care

Mod­ern Health­care is seek­ing en­tries for its ninth an­nual Best Places to Work in Health­care awards. The recog­ni­tion pro­gram iden­ti­fies and rec­og­nizes the top work­places in health­care, those that go above and be­yond to sup­port their staff, em­pow­er­ing them to pro­vide pa­tients and other cus­tomers with the best pos­si­ble care, prod­ucts and ser­vices. The dead­line for en­tries has now been ex­tended un­til April 22.

On be­half of Mod­ern Health­care, the Best Com­pa­nies Group, a Har­ris­burg, Pa.-based firm that ad­min­is­ters a va­ri­ety of “best places to work” pro­grams around the coun­try, will con­duct two sur­veys of health­care com­pa­nies that vol­un­teer to par­tic­i­pate. The first is a ques­tion­naire for a par­tic­i­pat­ing em­ployer; the sec­ond is a sat­is­fac­tion sur­vey of a com­pany’s em­ploy­ees.

The pro­gram is open to all health­care or­ga­ni­za­tions and com­pa­nies in all sec­tors of the in­dus­try with a min­i­mum of 25 full-time em­ploy­ees.

Par­tic­i­pa­tion is free for com­pa­nies and or­ga­ni­za­tions that com­plete the process elec­tron­i­cally. Health­care or­ga­ni­za­tions and com­pa­nies that par­tic­i­pate in the pro­gram will re­ceive a free sum­mary re­port. Par­tic­i­pants also will be able to buy a full as­sess­ment feed­back re­port from the Best Com­pa­nies Group.

In mid-July, Mod­ern Health­care will an­nounce the names, in al­pha­bet­i­cal or­der, of the 100 Best Places to Work in Health­care. A spe­cial sup­ple­ment, in­clud­ing the over­all rank­ing of the 100 Best Places to Work, will be pub­lished in the Oct. 24 is­sue of Mod­ern Health­care. Once again, com­pa­nies will be ranked on two lists, one for providers/pay­ers, and the other for sup­pli­ers.

New this year, two em­ploy­ers (one for providers/pay­ers and one for sup­pli­ers) will be pre­sented with the Health­i­est Award, rec­og­niz­ing or­ga­ni­za­tions that best fos­ter health and well­ness through their ben­e­fit plans, in­clud­ing early ac­cess to health in­sur­ance for new hires, avail­abil­ity of fit­ness fa­cil­i­ties and well­ness pro­grams, and a com­pany cul­ture that pro­motes work/life bal­ance. Two em­ploy­ers also will be pre­sented the Mil­len­nial Award, rec­og­niz­ing or­ga­ni­za­tions that have the most-en­gaged and most-sat­is­fied group of mil­len­ni­als on staff, based on the per­cent­age of mil­len­ni­als in the com­pany’s work­force and the num­ber of em­ployee sat­is­fac­tion sur­veys com­pleted by mil­len­ni­als.
