Re­gard­ing the on­line op-ed by Athenahealth CEO Jonathan Bush, “Cut the strings on soft­ware” (Mod­ern Health­care.com, April 6), un­like the so­ci­etal en­hance­ments of Face­book, Uber and LinkedIn, where tech­no­log­i­cal ef­forts sup­ported our con­tin­ued so­cial­iza­tion, many of the health­care tech­nolo­gies of­ten sought ways to re­place and in­ter­fere with ef­forts to prac­tice the art of heal­ing, which in turn de­hu­man­ized the prac­tice of medicine along the way.
