HCA East Florida to in­vest $650 mil­lion in fa­cil­i­ties

HCA’s East Florida di­vi­sion will in­vest about $650 mil­lion in its fa­cil­i­ties, in­clud­ing a $219 mil­lion hos­pi­tal.

The mul­ti­mil­lion-dol­lar in­vest­ment, which also in­cludes up­grades and ex­pan­sions of ex­ist­ing build­ings, will take about three years to com­plete. The largest in­vest­ment will be the con­struc­tion of a hos­pi­tal on the cam­pus of Nova South­east­ern Univer­sity in Davie. HCA cur­rently op­er­ates a free-stand­ing emer­gency room on the cam­pus.

Other in­vest­ments in­clude $108 mil­lion in up­grades at JFK Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Palm Beach. The 472-bed hos­pi­tal will get a three-story bed tower, a larger ER and ren­o­vated pa­tient rooms. Ken­dall Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Mi­ami will re­ceive $90 mil­lion in up­grades, in­clud­ing a four-story tower with ad­di­tional in­ten­sive-care and pe­di­atric beds.
