Thanks, Joe, for the insights on highly complex issues

Modern Healthcare - - COMMENT -

Joseph Conn’s cover story “Genomic medicine goes mainstream” (Feb 20, p. 16) is just one example of the con- sistently excellent reporting characteristic of his long tenure at Modern Healthcare and your related print and online publications.

Joe has been a trusted resource for readers like me, who benefited from his thorough research and thoughtful insights. While he has reported successfully on a wide range of topics, his stories on information technology during healthcare’s digital evolution shared valuable examples of successes, challenges and the considerable work that remains. His reporting on the emergence and development of physician leadership documented another important industry trend.

As he retires from Modern Healthcare, I offer Joe my congratulations on a job well done.

Dr. Frank Byrne President emeritus SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital Madison, Wis.
