Send entries for annual Design Awards competition
Entries are now being accepted for the 32nd annual Design Awards program.
Contemporary healthcare design has evolved far beyond dazzling towers, grand hotel-like entrances and healing gardens. Maximum functionality for staff, flexibility to accommodate changing demands for services, and patient-centric, easy-to-navigate interior designs have become top priorities in healthcare architecture. Increasingly important is a building’s “sustainability,” focusing on energy consumption and environmentally sound construction processes.
The goal of this program is to recognize facilities that stand out in meeting those criteria. Gold, silver and bronze citations will be awarded. Once again we will present an “environmentally friendly” award to a healthcare facility that, for example, demonstrates innovation in energy efficiency, choice of building materials and management of water consumption and other resources. The awards also include a category for a “senior-friendly” facility, one that includes a number of features and amenities to meet the needs of older patients.
The competition is only open to registered architects. All types and sizes of patient-care-related facilities are eligible, built or unbuilt. Nominated facilities can be anywhere in the world.
The deadline for entries is June 23. For more information on the criteria and the entry process, visit modernhealthcare.com/designawards.
