Scott Peterson has been named VP of data architecture at healthcare consulting firm Avalere Health, based in Washington, D.C.
Peterson was most recently CIO of the Minnesota Department of Human Services. During his two-year tenure, he was responsible for operating the state’s payment system and health insurance exchange, MNsure. He began working for the state in 2010.
In his new role at Avalere, Peterson will lead efforts to develop data, analytics and technology solutions. Avalere recently made efforts to offer data-driven technology platforms such as outcomes-based contracting for pharmaceutical manufacturers and health plans.
