Healthcare reform could use a Simpson-Bowles-style commission
Regarding the article “As U.S. Democrats line up behind single payer, some Canadians are suing to allow private insurance” (ModernHealthcare.com, Oct. 10), it’s nice to see an honest assessment of the pros and cons of universal healthcare.
The debate over the future of healthcare in the U.S. will rage on until we get bipartisan support for a bill. Let’s urge our legislators in Washington to convene a commission patterned after the Simpson-Bowles commission on fiscal reform to address the issues of cost and access in our healthcare system.
