Modern Healthcare wins two 2018 Neal Awards
Modern Healthcare is pleased to announce its staff has won two Jesse H. Neal Awards. Created in 1955, the Neal Awards have long been considered the top prize in business-to-business journalism awards.
Shelby Insurance reporter Livingston, Pat art director Fanelli and digital graphics Fan Fei producer were honored with the best single article award for their April 2017 story on insurers’ role in access to addiction treatment. With the death toll rising from opioid addiction, Livingston’s reporting revealed that “opioid addiction isn’t treated with urgency like other chronic and deadly diseases.”
This is the second consecutive award for Fanelli and Fei, who won last year for best infographics. Harris Meyer Senior reporter won the best news coverage award for his body of work reporting on congressional efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Meyer’s reporting went beyond the day-to-day drama unfolding in Washington, D.C., and provided readers with insightful analysis on the real-world impact of proposed policy changes.
