Dr. David Feinberg is taking a leadership post at Google, which has undertaken healthcare-related efforts, including artificial intelligence, data standards and the cloud. Dr. Jaewon Ryu will replace Feinberg in an interim basis starting Dec. 1. Geisinger confirmed the news first reported by the Wall Street Journal. Feinberg took himself out of the running this summer to lead the healthcare venture launched by Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase. Google’s healthcare work will play into its interoperability efforts, which it pledged to pursue— along with Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce—this year.
