Bring the outdoors in with this sweet forest-themed DIY from You Are My Fave blogger, Melanie Blodgett. Made with wood veneer, it’s quick and effective (with not a power tool in sight).

You’ll need: wood veneer sheets, scissors, small hole punch, wooden embroidery hoop, clear monofilament or fishing wire.
01 02 Start cutting trees in a variety of shapes and sizes from the veneer. The wood is thin enough that you can use scissors, but it’s very fragile so be prepared for some throw-aways.
03 04 When you have a good variety of tree shapes, take a tiny hole punch or needle to make a hole near the top of each tree. Again, be careful or the veneer will split in two.
05 Take the monofilament or wire and string through the small hole you created – knot tightly. Secure around the embroidery hoop. Vary the trees around the circumference until you’re satisfied with the look. Attach wire to the top of the hoop, and hang from a ceiling hook. Make sure everything is fixed securely!
