Correlation between protests and surge?

I guess it is just a coincidence, that there is a huge surge in the coronavirus just two or three weeks after thousands of protesters poured into the streets across the nation. Many of the protesters were not wearing masks. The media conveniently doesn’t seem to see the correlation between the protesters and the surge. What a surprise?
