He added a Hurst shifter along with a custom console. “Driving an older car, you’re always trying to figure out a way to do it safely. With the addition of the five-speed, I built a center console that includes a lockable armrest, two cupholders, and a two-port USB charge station.” On the console are switches that control door locks and power windows. Those windows were installed using a 2004 Mustang regulator assembly.

The regulator was bolted into the door using a mounting plate so it would bolt to factory AMC holes in the door, as well as using the AMC tracks, guides, and so on. “During the window install we also added the power door locks with all switches housed in the center console to not have to hack holes in door panels,” says Goodwin. A two-way alarm system was also added to secure the doors, hood, and decklid while disabling the ignition.
