Holiday Gift Guide

What’s going to be under your Christmas tree this year? Here are some subtle hints to drop to your loved ones

Remember the magic that Christmas morning brought when you were a kid? Awake before the sun rose, you’d sprint down the stairs to the Christmas tree and see what Santa had delivered, screaming at the top of your lungs for your mom and dad to “Wake up!” For me, Christmas was a month-long process of begging, pleading, and volunteering to perform any chore that needed to be done in order to convince my parents to get me that must-have gift of the day. In 1975, that gift was the Freedom Train, a scale model of a train that traveled the country for our Bicentennial that was full of historic things like Henry Aaron’s home run–hitting bat and ball and other stuff that my 10-year-old brain didn’t care about. Today, as Mustang nuts, our gift lists are decidedly more expensive and technological, but it doesn’t diminish the joy that comes with opening a gift-wrapped package, crossing your fingers, and hoping that inside the box is that new supercharger you’ve been asking for (or whatever automotive lust you’ve hoped for). We put together this holiday gift guide in advance of Christmas so you can mark a few items and leave it in plain sight for your loved ones. You know, as a hint. Here’s wishing that it works!
