Mark Tahbo passes away
POLACCA, AZ
Hopi-tewa potter Mark Tahbo passed away suddenly in December 2017 at the age of 59. Tahbo was known for his use of traditional materials and methods and innovative interpretaitons of Hopi designs. The great-grandson of Grace Chapella, Tahbo was one of only a few male Hopi potters and won awards at SWAIA’S Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Museum Guild Indian Art Fair and Market.
