Native American Art

TERION JOHN (NAVAJO)

-

Terion John, 12 years old, began painting around the age of 9 after years of watching his brother and sister paint. “Art has been always been part of my life; it has taught me about my culture and how each piece has a story behind it. I want my artwork to help other people understand the Navajo culture,” says Terion. His acrylic paintings are striking, with bright bleeding colors on the canvas. Terion says he loves mixing colors and creating abstract art. This year, he’s been getting into wood carving as well, bringing to the 2018 market a sculpture crafted from Hawaiian koa wood, inspired by Niagara Falls.
