▶ The East Haven Ro­tary Club’s sec­ond an­nual “Anginette Wars” fundraiser held in the East Haven High School atrium drew 35 bak­ers and more than 400 at­ten­dees. The winners:

Judges’ picks: best over­all cookie: Emily Meise, theme, Roar­ing ‘20s; first run­ner up: Judy Brito, theme, Cookie Land; sec­ond run­ner up: Deb­bie Donofrio.

Spec­ta­tors’ votes: best tast­ing cookie: Rose­mary McNiven, theme, The Great­est Cookie on Earth; best dec­o­rated cookie: Gail Net­tle­ton, theme: Cookie Land; best table de­sign: Gary Acabbo, theme: Adam & Eve and the Gar­den of Anginettes.

Judges were au­thor An­thony Riccio; Jo­ce­lyn Mam­inta, of News8, and Brian Spy­ros, of News8, and master of cer­e­monies was John “Cadil­lac” Sav­ille, of Coun­try 92.5.

▶ The Shel­ton His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety re­ceived an Award of Merit from the Con­necti­cut League of His­tory Or­ga­ni­za­tions for its in­ter­pre­ta­tion of the Brown­son House on the grounds of the Shel­ton His­tory Cen­ter, 70 Rip­ton Road.
