‘Menopause the Musical’: “Get your girlfriends together for a night out” at Long Wharf.
“Get your girlfriends together for a fun night out!” says Long Wharf Theatre in offering a special on group tickets for “Menopause the Musical,” which plays best to groups of women and will settle in for twoplus weeks at Long Wharf Theatre from Friday, June 15, to July 1.
The setup: Four women at a lin- gerie sale have nothing in common but a black lace bra and memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex . ... You get the picture. The fun is in the joyful musical parody set to classic tunes from the 1960s-1980s that you’ll recognize in “Puff My God I’m Draggin’ ” and “My Husband Sleeps Tonight.”
GFour Productions, winner of 44 Tony Awards, brings in the laughtfilled 90-minute production, which had a brief run last year at the Shubert and a longer run in 2011 at Long Wharf.
