Sa­muel M. Bailardo, age 78, beloved hus­band of the late Veron­ica (Ur­ban) Bailardo and Reba Carter of Or­ange City, FL, passed away af­ter a brief ill­ness on June 8, 2018. Sam was born May 31, 1940 in Bridge­port, CT and was the son of the late Matthew J. Bailardo and the late Carmella M. (Es­pos­ito) Bailardo. He was a 1959 grad­u­ate from Bullard Havens Tech­ni­cal High School, a mem­ber of the Is­land X-19 Se­abees of the US Navy and a li­censed electrician. Af­ter an hon­or­able dis­charge, Sam set­tled in Mil­ford, CT to raise his three daugh­ters. He worked in the Pub­lic Works De­part­ment for the City of Mil­ford as an electrician and af­ter 25 years re­tired as a fore­man from the Pub­lic Works De­part­ment. Af­ter Ronni’s pass­ing, Sam moved to Florida where he en­joyed vis­its to Day­tona Beach and the West Coast, loved lis­ten­ing to coun­try and bluegrass music and en­joyed the fish pond he took pride in build­ing to house his many koi, cat­fish and tur­tles. Sam will be greatly missed by his daugh­ters, Deb­o­rah (Carl) Kauf­man, Lisa (Dave) Whitham, both of Mil­ford, CT, and Pamela (An­thony) Minicucci of North Haven, CT, his wife, Reba of Or­ange City, FL, his ador­ing grand­chil­dren, Heather (Tim) Davis, Tara and Sean Kauf­man, Ash­ley and Brit­tany Whitham, and Danielle and Gianna Minicucci, his brother, Den­nis Bailardo of San Diego, CA, and two great-grand­sons, Des­mond Davis and Jace Pritchard. He is also sur­vived by three step-chil­dren, Deb­o­rah Cot­ton, Ran­dall Nance, and Rus­sell Carter and five step-grand­chil­dren. Sam was pre­de­ceased by a brother, Peter Bailardo of Florida. Sam was a lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther, great-grand­fa­ther, brother, and friend to ev­ery­one he met. All are wel­come to at­tend grave­side ser­vices on Aug 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Ceme­tery, 2205 Strat­ford Ave, Strat­ford, CT 06615.
