IF YOU’RE going to create a bomb scare, you might as well do it in style.

A well-dressed prankster phoned in two bogus bomb threats from the classiest of joints: the Ritz-Carlton hotel and the Waldorf Astoria, officials said Wednesday.

Police, working off surveillance video, said the first threat was made about 4 p.m. Tuesday from a pay phone in the lobby of the Waldorf on Park Ave.

Then, two hours later, the same man, sporting a dress shirt and tie, made a second threat — this time from a pay phone at the Midtown RitzCarlton, police sources said.

In his calls, the man threatened to blow up 1 World Trade Center and Penn Station. Police checked out both sites and found no explosives, officials said.

Cops were looking for the prank caller Wednesday.

The nattily dressed joker was described as white, in his 50s with dark hair. While making one of the threats, he was carrying a white canvas tote bag, police sources said.

It was not believed that he was a guest at either hotel. Calls to the hotels for comment were not returned Wednesday.
