“They got brought here at a very young age, they’ve worked here, they’ve gone to school here,” Trump said in the interview, published in the issue naming him “Person of the Year.”

“Some were good students. Some have wonderful jobs. And they’re in never-never land because they don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Trump did specifics.

The President-elect was talking about so-called Dreamers — the approximat­ely 740,000 young undocument­ed immigrants brought to the U.S. by their parents.

Those children — under various executive actions put into place by President Obama, known as Deferred Action for not provide Childhood Arrivals — have been spared deportatio­n and given work permit eligibilit­y.

The label refers to the DREAM Act — a federal bill whose acronym stands for the developmen­t, relief and education of alien minors — which would allow for many undocument­ed immigrants to eventually gain citizenshi­p.

Trump, who has in the weeks following his election indicated he may tone down many of his initial positions, has neverthele­ss not backed down from campaign promises to overturn all of Obama’s immigratio­n-related executive actions, including DACA.
