MINNEAPOLIS — Bartolo Colon (5-10) allowed four runs over six innings for his third victory in five decisions since he was signed by the Minnesota Twins, who beat the Diamondbacks, 12-5, on Sunday.

The 44-year-old righty also became the 18th pitcher in major-league history to defeat all 30 teams.

Colon was 0-2 in four previous starts against the Diamondbacks, who joined the majors a year after his career began in 1997.

Eddie Rosario hit a grand slam in Minnesota’s nine-run first inning.

PIRATES 6, CARDINALS 3: Josh Bell homered and drove in four runs to lead Pittsburgh over St. Louis in the Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa.

TIGERS 6, DODGERS 1: Justin Verlander and Kenta Maeda both took no-hitters into the sixth inning, but only the Detroit star was able to keep his outstanding performance going.

Verlander (9-8) allowed a home run to exMet Curtis Granderson in the sixth. The homer by Granderson — who was playing just his second game for visiting L.A. — broke up the no-hitter and was one of only two hits off Verlander. He walked one and struck out nine in eight innings.

CUBS 6, BLUE JAYS 5 (10): Alex Avila capped Chicago’s three-run 10th inning with a two-run single, and the Cubs swept Toronto at Wrigley. With two outs and the bases loaded, Avila lined a base hit into right field against Roberto Osuna (3-4). Ben Zobrist scored easily and Javier Baez slid in safely just ahead of the throw from Jose Bautista.

Avila threw his arms in the air when it was over, then was mobbed by happy teammates near first base. The improbable rally also included two batters reaching on swing-and-miss strikeouts, and Kyle Schwarber scoring on a wild pitch.

ATHLETICS 3, ASTROS 2: Marcus Semien wound up with a Little League home run when Houston kept throwing the ball away and Jharel Cotton pitched well into the seventh inning of visiting Oakland’s victory.

ROYALS 7, INDIANS 4: Cheslor Cuthbert homered and drove in three runs, Alcides Escobar also had three RBI and host Kansas City beat Cleveland to avoid a three-game sweep.

ANGELS 5, ORIOLES 4: Pinch-hitter Cameron Maybin singled in the tiebreaking run in the eighth inning, Kole Calhoun and Andrelton Simmons homered and surging GETTY Los Angeles beat Baltimore at Camden Yards.

BRAVES 8, REDS 1: Tyler Flowers’ grand slam broke open a close game in Atlanta’s sixrun fifth inning, and Sean Newcomb earned his first home win.

RAYS 3, MARINERS 0: Blake Snell allowed only two hits in seven innings for his second consecutive victory following a long drought, and Tampa Bay beat Seattle in St. Petersburg.

NATIONALS 4, PADRES 1: Gio Gonzalez allowed only five singles and struck out eight as he almost got through the seventh inning in San Diego.

WHITE SOX 3, RANGERS 2: Miguel Gonzalez escaped early trouble and pitched six scoreless innings, leading Chicago over Texas in Arlington. Texas dropped 21/2 games behind the Twins and the Angels for the AL’s second wild-card spot.

BREWERS 8, ROCKIES 4: Jesus Aguilar homered twice, Chase Anderson won in his return from the disabled list and Milwaukee beat Colorado in Denver for its sixth victory in seven games.

PHILLIES 5, GIANTS 2: Madison Bumgarner pitched six innings in one of his best starts this season, took a line drive off his left shin and hit an RBI single that temporarily gave host San Francisco an early lead. The reward? Another no-decision — His third in eight starts since coming off the disabled list.
