Church gift strikes chord

- Noah Goldberg

A QUEENS church robbed of $2,300 worth of musical instruments got a new groove Monday when a kind-hearted woman cut them a check to cover the loss.

Boo Grace, 64, from the Upper East Side, delivered the $2,300 personally to the Canaan Baptist Church in Corona.

“This cut straight to my heart. A church needs music,” Grace said. “I couldn’t sleep . . . it upset me so.”

The church fell silent Aug. 15, thanks to a nighttime thief who made off with its three guitars.

Pastor Juan Carlos Suero, 52, said he was grateful for Grace’s gift — but he still hopes the robber will have an attack of conscience.

“We’re not upset at him,” Suero said. “What can you do? We’ll pray for him and hope he returns the stuff.”
