Candidate vow proves hollow

-

A FORMER prosecutor who wants to be Brooklyn district attorney promised to expose corruption in the office he’s seeking, but came up short Friday.

Marc Fliedner claimed he was going to show proof “of the culture of corruption” inside the current administration of Acting District Attorney Eric Gonzalez at a press conference outside the Louis Pink Houses in East New York.

Earlier in the day, Fliedner vowed to produce documents that “must be put before potential voters in the hours before this crucial election, and particularly before community members in housing developments like the Pink Houses — where Akai Gurley lost his life — who (will) be most impacted by this pattern of corruption.”

Fliedner successfully prosecuted NYPD officer Peter Liang for the killing of Gurley.

The only thing he presented Friday, though, was that he was filing a defamation lawsuit against Gonzalez.

Primary Day is on Tuesday. Fliedner is facing four former colleagues — Gonzalez, Anne Swern, Patricia Gatling and Ama Dwimoh — and Councilman Vincent Gentile.
