EXTRA POINTS

- — Todd Bowles

COACH’S CALL

The Jets lost Sunday, but one positive was OC John Morton being more aggressive with his play-calling. The most encouraging example came on a 3rd-and-3 in the second quarter, when Josh McCown fired a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse on a fly route down the right sideline. Those are the types of calls Morton must make for the Jets to remain competitive against more talented teams.

TURNING POINT

The Jets were supposed to get the ball back, down four points with two minutes remaining in the first half. Instead, Kalif Raymond couldn’t handle a punt deep in Jets territory. The Raiders recovered at the 4-yard line, and Marshawn Lynch later bulldozed his way into the end zone for a touchdown that was the first nail in Gang Green’s coffin.

QUOTE

“We’re not good enough to correct our mistakes and win the game. We got to play pretty good, sound football. And at times, we didn’t.”
