Cops: Tenn. shoot may be ‘revenge’

A MAN WHO shot and killed a parishioner at a Tennessee church may have done so out of revenge — for racist Dylann Roof’s massacre at a black church, police said Friday.

Emanuel Samson, who is black, wrote about “revenge or retaliation” for Roof’s murder of nine black worshipers in Charleston, South Carolina, in June 2015, police said.

Samson, 25, is accused of killing a 39-year-old woman and wounding six others at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch on Sunday.

Police shared only a summary of Samson’s words — not the actual contents of the note.

Roof, a white supremacist, became the first person sentenced to death for a federal hate crime for the attack at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Investigators pointed out differences in the two shootings, including that Samson previously worshiped at Burnette Chapel, which has a diverse congregation.
