O.J. on the move ahead of release
O.J. SIMPSON appeared to be rolling toward freedom Saturday as Nevada prison officials moved him in anticipation of his release on parole.
Simpson, 70, may leave prison as early as Monday , possibly in Las Vegas, a Nevada prison official told the Associated Press.
No details could be found on Simpson’s location in the prison system, which State Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Keast said usually indicates that an inmate is being moved in custody. “He is still in our custody, at least until (Sunday),” Keast said. “The department is progressing toward his release as soon as possible.”
Simpson — who was acquitted in 1995 of murder charges in the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman but found found civilly liable for the killings in 1997 — has been held at Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada for the last seven years, for robbing two memorabilia dealers at a Las Vegas casino hotel in 2007.
