Golf club tweets rip ‘ingrates’
IT WAS par for the course for President Trump on Sunday as he tweeted up a storm from the comfort of his New Jersey golf club, praising his team’s response to hurricane-wrecked Puerto Rico and attacking his critics.
As many of the island territory’s residents struggled to get food, water and electricity, Trump crowed about his administration’s handling of the Category 4 Hurricane Maria.
He even found time to head to nearby Liberty National Golf Club to become the first sitting President to present the Presidents Cup trophy to the winner. He dedicated the award to the storm-ravaged people of Puerto Rico, Texas and Florida.
“I want to just remember them, and we’re going to dedicate this trophy to all those people who went through so much, that we love, that are part of our great state, really a part of our great nation,” Trump said.
At least one teed-off attendee didn’t appreciate Trump’s remarks.
“You don’t give a s--- about Puerto Rico,” the heckler shouted.

“Outside of the Fake News or politically motivated ingrates . . . people are now starting to recognize the amazing work that has been done by FEMA and our great Military,” Trump wrote in two morning tweets.
Members of the President’s administration also went on the offensive Sunday, defending Trump’s temper after he spent the weekend publicly feuding with San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, Democrats and the media.
