Russia probers question Spicer

-

PRESIDENT Trump’s former mouthpiece Sean Spicer was grilled by the team investigating possible Russian interference in the election. Spicer was interviewed for much of Monday by investigators working for special counsel Robert Mueller, Politico reported. A person familiar with the meeting said Mueller’s team asked him about the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, and Trump’s meeting with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Spicer declined to comment, and his lawyer, Christopher Mead, did not return phone calls, Politico reported. Spicer resigned as White House spokesman and acting communications director in July. Trump then named Anthony Scaramucci as communications director. Scaramucci then left within a matter of days after giving an interview in which he hammered other senior White House advisers. Following Comey’s firing, Congress named Mueller to lead the probe. Trump has repeatedly objected to the continuing probe.
