Cops: We got man in B’klyn stab slay
COPS HAVE arrested a 20-yearold man they say stabbed a teenager to death during a bloody brawl outside a Brighton Beach 7-Eleven, police said Tuesday.
David Medrano-Torres is facing manslaughter and assault charges for the Saturday morning stabbing that left Giovanni Olivares, 18, dead and his cousin slashed in the face.
The cousins were shopping in the convenience store on Brighton Beach Ave. near Coney Island Ave. about 2:30 a.m. when they got into an argument with MedranoTorres and two other men, witnesses told police.
The fight spilled outside and Medrano-Torres, who knew Olivares, whipped out a knife and jammed it into the teen’s stomach, police said.
He then lunged at the victim’s 21-year-old cousin, slashing him from his ear to his neck.
Medics rushed the victims to Coney Island Hospital, where Olivares died. His cousin’s wound was not life threatening.
A judge ordered MedranoTorres held without bail following a brief arraignment Monday night.
