WR Kerley to be suspended;

-

JETS wide receiver Jeremy Kerley is expecting to be suspended for violating NFL policy, the Daily News first reported Tuesday morning. Kerley avoided addressing specifics in the Jets locker room Tuesday afternoon. “Anything about the suspension, it’s just a league matter right now, so I’m going to leave it up to the league,” he said.

Kerley believes he will be on the field against the Bills Thursday night at MetLife Stadium. “As far as right now, that’s what I’m going into it with,” Kerley said. “I’m ready to go. We’ll see what happens.”

When asked if it’s safe to assume he’s currently in the appeal process, Kerley said, “I’d pretty much say it’s safe to assume anything. Anything’s up for assumption. You can assume anything. But it’s a league matter. I’ll leave it up to them. Right now, my main focus is on Thursday. It’s a quick turnaround.”

JETS TRADE FOR NINER CB

With Buster Skrine (concussion) and Morris Claiborne (foot) both battling injuries, the Jets traded for 49ers cornerback Rashard Robinson at Tuesday’s deadline. The Jets gave San Francisco their fifth-round pick in the 2018 draft. They still have the Cowboys’ fifth-round pick, acquired in a draft-day trade this past spring.

The Niners selected Robinson in the fourth round of the 2016 draft out of LSU. He has seven passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble
