ANTI-SEMITIC incidents in New York State have doubled in a year’s time, largely due to the election of Donald Trump, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

There have been 267 reported anti-Semitic incidents across the state from Jan. 1 through Sept. 30, the ADL reported Thursday. During the first nine months of 2016, there were 136 reported incidents, the group said, and 199 in the entire year.

“There’s been a change in the environment since the election, especially in New York,” said Evan Bernstein, ADL New York’s regional director.

The incidents statewide include 167 acts of vandalism, 92 cases of harassment, and eight assaults.

In New York City, Manhattan reported 76 cases, Brooklyn 63, Queens 20, Bronx seven, and Staten Island five, according to the report.

Normally, Manhattan, which is populated with more secular Jews, is towards the bottom of the list, Bernstein said.

“It’s showing anti-Semitism isn’t just an Orthodox problem in Brooklyn,” he said. “It’s reaching into all areas of the Jewish community, including reform and conservative.”

Just last month, three men spray-painted a pink swastika across the doors of the Sutton Place Synagogue on E. 51st St. near Third Ave. in Midtown, police said. Also in October, police say, James Rizzo, 37, painted a swastika and an anti-Semitic slur on the garage door of a Staten Island home.

Nationwide, there has been a 67% rise in incidents reported this year compared to the same period last year, the ADL report says.

“It’s staggering,” Bernstein said. “My biggest concern is that this becomes the new normal and people become desensitized to these incidents.”
