Chris wife hit in cell-drive sting
A NEW Jersey crackdown on distracted driving ordered by Gov. Chris Christie’s attorney general netted the state’s First Lady, Mary Pat Christie.
Recently released dash cam footage of the April traffic stop shows Bernardsville Officer Timothy Richard pull over a white 2016 Chevy Suburban
Richard was among the officers tasked with specifically enforcing the state’s hands-free cell phone law after Attorney General Christopher Porrino requested a $1.2 million federal grant to start a campaign against texting and other forms of distracted driving, NJ.com reported. The sweep ran April 1-21.
Christie doesn’t identify herself as the First Lady in the video, but she does initially say she was just holding her phone, not using it to make a call. In May, she paid a $250 fine, according to NJ.com.
