SAM New York City will honor the women and men in uniform for Veterans Day Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, a downtown Veterans Day Parade from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will close Broadway between Liberty St. and the Battery.
The main event, the Veterans Day Parade will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing Fifth Ave. from 52nd St. to 23rd St. This will be followed by a festival at 53rd St. between Sixth and Madison Aves.
Almost simultaneously on Saturday, Madison Ave. will be closed from 42nd to 57th Sts. for The ADAS Madison Avenue Fair, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. With Madison and Fifth closed the traffic burden will shift mostly to Park Ave. both ways and to Lexington and Sixth Aves..
At Radio City Music Hall, on Sixth Ave. between 50th and 51st Sts., an 11 a.m. Rockettes Christmas Spectacular show today, Friday, will kick off the holiday season. They’ll also perform on Saturday at 5 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. With the Rockettes in residency through the Christmas season, jams on Sixth Ave. will be ongoing.
