Focus on ‘first home win’

lacked “the desire to finish on a consistent basis” and he left the door open to benching players who do not show that desire.

“It’s something we’re taking a look at,” McAdoo said. “We have a 46-man roster on game day. Players who are going to go out and do it the way we ask them to do it and do it on a consistent basis, they’re going to get a chance to go play.”

The Giants head coach would not name anyone specifically, but it was hard not to think he was referring to Janoris Jenkins.

Fresh off his one-game suspension, Jenkins was beat by Marquise Goodwin on the 83-yard touchdown and made a half-hearted effort to tackle Garrett Celek on the 47yard touchdown.

“I think he got caught up on a big body there,” McAdoo said. “Got to find a way to get the big body on the ground.”

It was not the only play where Jenkins’ effort appeared questionable. There were at least two more instances where Jenkins looked as if he could have made a tackle but for whatever reason he could not.

QUICK HITS

McAdoo said he expects DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison (ankle) to be limited this week in practice. OL Justin Pugh aggravated his back and is likely going to “sit out a little bit,” said McAdoo. … The last time the Giants fell to an 0-9 team was in 1966, when the Atlanta Falcons defeated them 27-16.
